Laugh out loud!!!

I've been kinda low for the past few days...you know the whole cycle of randon stalking online, vacant expressions, not interested in anything in particular, insomnia and worst of all: LOSS OF APPETITE :'( ... I'm not sure what it is but it probably started from 6 p.m. last Sunday and refuses to go away...

I've always been a person who speaks her mind, been binary in many ways, I either like something or I don't and that might be to varying degrees yes, but I don't take the middle ground...I've had many people tell me only the careful and diplomatic surge further, but I've always maintained that if I change so much for every Tom, Dick and Harry I won't remember myself  tomorrow and I'm my most favourite person..how can I forget me ;-)...

I've always done only those things that I enjoy..I've enjoyed my job as well till June...Work-life lately has been way too much work with hardly any scope for life...yesterday when I stumbled back home at 9 :30 I had no energy to even change...Social life is zilch for a few weeks now...In the mornings I've lost the urge to even deck up (more sobs)...the rationale being, if I anyways need to sit behind the lappy for 12 hours he who-hath no eyes won't mind right? I miss a lot of things: warm hugs, friends bunched over the single samosa, light banter and gossip in the coffee room,  my kohl lined eyes, love and care from the loved ones, an attentive ear from the erstwhile confidant...but the thing I miss the most is the sound of my own laughter...I haven't guffawed in ages and don't remember the last time I laughed till I chocked...I still smile, yes the show man can't let down her guard can she, but haven't laughed till I snorted in ages...

Every time I've been low I watch this kid, he has always managed to cheer me up...today he made the lips curl upwards yes, but that was about it! The video only reminded me that I've grown up... I can no longer expect to be picked up and thrown up towards the sky by uncle, I can no longer expect to get a diary milk from auntie for getting a scratch on my knees after the fight with the bully next door, I can no longer expect mother to fuss over me when I have gud-gud in my stomach and father to come rescue me after I complain to him about the perv next door....

I grew up waaaay too early for my age and I miss having a normal childhood in so many ways that I can't even describe them...Everybody around me has these perennially long faces nowadays they are pulling me down with them but I can't be an island either... and I miss the fact that I can no longer make people laugh with me anymore...

P.S (Empathize if you must but don't sympathize, people. I hate it when anybody does that!!!)
P.P.S (I heard a line yesterday which made me put this up: "If you drink your tears so much they will turn into poison, if you swallow your pain so much you will turn into venom")

Here a jam, there a jam, everywhere a jam jam!!!

Stuck in a massive traffic jam today; several arbid thoughts crossed my mind…

  • People in Bangalore have no road sense but have a LOT of road rage
  • The traffic cops here are idiots. They try their best but still some habits die hard
  • Everybody is always in a hurry out here
  • There are no roads left in Bangalore, heaps of semi-organized sludge is only make do…I think we are going back to our roots where once there were only villages and cities were yet to come to be…I wouldn’t mind that if the trees were still around, but only high rise buildings in a village isn't really the idyllic picture I'm looking for
  • If there is a girl behind the wheel and she is anywhere close to a jam, then she and only she is solely responsible for this public nuisance…never mind that we are an educated society into the 64th year of our independence!!!
  • It’s a sin for a girl to drive a vehicle. I wasn’t driving today but I saw a girl trying to manipulate a sharp turn and she did take sometime, but she wasn’t the reason for the traffic pile up ahead of her; she was only being cautious. But no the whole world: read MEN, got behind her with classy slangs and denigrating remarks…I almost punched an auto-driver for the this: “hudugi kayealli gaadi kotare ide gati” (translates to ‘it’s expected if you let a girl drive a vehicle’)…I hate-detest-abhor-loathe it when people do that…Classic MCPs
  • Patience is a virtue lost on the city dwellers…every second is accounted for and people rush through life as though they have only millis of them left. I wonder what such people do with all these saved seconds? Hatch them into dodos?
  • People can’t enjoy the music or the good company with them. They have to break their already rotten head over missed meetings and good for nothing tasks. What is the point of living a life like this, may I ask?
  • Street urchins love jams…they run around in glee amongst stalled cars and make faces at bikers, literally mocking the deluded-self-professed-successful people at the their lack of mobility
  • You might own a Merc E class or you might own a Tata Nano, a traffic jam shows you who exactly you are: A raving maniac bellowing your lungs out at even the fly in front of you
  • Have you noticed apart from the street hawkers the numbers of which other class have increased? Yep the chucks (forgive the language, couldn't be subtle today)!!! I'm bound to believe that their prayers actually work; every time there is jam that many more people can be harassed!!!
  • We can learn so many things from buffaloes. They don't give a dam. They will walk across the signal right in the middle of a jam as though it's a meadow filled with tulips. They will crap, eat, pee, socialize etc..at their own pace...not a care in the world...Imagine if the homo-sapein jaati learnt to imbibe this attitude!
  • The omnipresent thing in any jam, actually this is nothing to do with jams…the educated society makes a mockery of itself when it does this: HONK HONK HONK…If you listen carefully (that’s if your ear drums have not been torn apart yet) you can hear that these morons are actually trying to hum the song ‘I’m an A-grade asshole’!!!

Dream Hunks or Chocolate boys or Lesser mortals: DROOL MACHINES indeed

I didn't want to put up a complete picture blog for sometime now but I couldn't help it this time..I was meant to write about 'Maturing Relationships' but PV beat me to it again (When the dust settles)...I'm going to have to do something to keep this girl from getting into my brain...any ideas peopols? So far I've come up with writing a better encryption program for the grey cells (nerdism owed to the current novel being read: Girl with dragon tattoo; more on this in the next post) or join the truce and set up a common forum; call it "Priyankas' Untited"  or something not so lame where all the Priyankas' of the world can come put up posts and the rest of the world put up guest posts (this is also not original, inspired by DOV :-p )

Are we the same?

I have my very first follower and it's none other than PV. I am absolutely addicted to her blog!!!She writes about almost everything and has such an easy wonderful style that I couldn't but stop getting hooked on to. Whilst I was at her blog a thought hit me like a thunder bolt!!! We were similar in so many ways it was like I found my kumbh-mela-mein-bichidi twin online!!! Well here is listing few of my observations..PV feel free to add more along the way :0

>>>>Have to start with the fact that we share the same first name.
>>>>The name of my first post is freakishly similar to her blog's name and I wrote my post when I didn't even know she existed.
>>>>I hate being genarlised or stereotyped into a category and I can't stand those who judge me. PV I'm sure your the same.
>>>>I have-to have-to take the difficult path, the one which others forbid or deter from taking. I see her mention that she is that way too.
>>>>I love my pets, there are more cats today but I would so easily switch places with her to be in her extended family with the canines.
>>>>I can see that we have the same common widget of the label displayer which though highly geeky a point I found it facinating that we would pick the same.
>>>>There are many out there who love Hogwarts and the things taught in it but I see that we used the sorting hat to decide where we belong in the magical world.
>>>>The day PV wrote this Growing Up I had composed my draft blog on the exact same thing and I couldn't get rid of the goose bumps I had as I read the post. Some of the lines were exactly how I would I have put them...freaked me out!!!
>>>>Who doens't love reading nowadays but I see that we seem to appreciate the same authors
>>>>Our signatures kinda lookes the same.. Pure coincidinki OK...
I've got to admit it feels nice to see similarities in others but in this particular case I'm elated. She is a great writer and has been doing this for quite sometime at PV's confessions... She churns out posts like everyday and has been going strong from 2008...I fell in love with particualr one: Real Beauty.A great follower to have indeed :D :D :D...hope your disclaimer clauses are met PV and I hope you win many more deserved accolades!!!

Oh and before I forget I'm now a darling at DOV....Check out the posts there as well...I wanna say I'm finally unleashed like I pormised but let's not get ahead of ourselves!!!

P.S. (Viya thanks for putting me up on your blog girl... love the pics on this post Love is in the air)

Following the trail of Imelda Marcos.......

A long over due post, this was meant to be written out when my shoe collection touched a solid ton. The sloth that I am, I put off writing this till now even though the century came up sometime during March this year. Why write it now then, you might ask. On Monday I get 2 more from US which takes the total up to a 150. A feat worth mentioning don’t you think ;-)…buckle up for the story that reveals how a simple city girl started of small, then lost her marbles in between and is now a complete shoe-junkie!

I still remember my humble beginnings. As a kid pumps were a luxury that mother rarely allowed to indulge on the behest of her daughter so every year I would get one, plus another strappy sandal which I would use all year log and team with anything and everything, not caring 2 hoots whether they matched with the outfit or not. I still have the tiny yellow pumps that I wore as a 5 year-old kid safely tucked away. (BTW I still have the shoes my barbie dressed up in and she was way too posh for her time; her boots were  from Dubai and so was she :D...But the 150 here are only the currently wearable ones and definitely mine)
Then I reached high school and my needs grew and I started looking out for more options, black was good, but black and white would be better. Red is bright but yellow is brighter. But I was still a firm believer in wearing out my single pair of sneakers first, patch them if needed and only then ask for a replacement. Remnants of this era also find place in the smorgasbord that is my room currently. Soon time caught up and a sort of frenzy began. Rocksters helped me in my rainbow collection many times over and even added some colours and patterns that are hard to come by in the natural rainbow. These have stood the test of time and still remain rock hard, right where they started of from, under my feet (pun super-intended ;-)). What started as a mild fetish has today transformed itself into a full blown and complete addiction. The whole gamut of colours anyways find an esteemed position in my shoe-rack but giving them company are the textures (glossy/matte), the occasions (formal/semi-formal/casual/bling bling),  the revelations (clogs/peep toes/strappy)  and the elevations (flats/graceful-high/stand-up-and-take-notice-of-me- high/11th-Heaven-high), and in various permutations and combinations mind you !!!  They are all one happy family at the moment but they fear the wrath of Mother India, who has warned the deluded daughter that any further additions to this not-so-small-anymore family, might mean definite eviction of the prodigal daughter and her beloved shoes. So the 2 new ones  from US might not receive the warm welcome the family normally is entitled to, but dire measures will have to be employed to keep our firangi friends happy!!!

Everybody who knows me, knows Priyanka loves her shoes. She has a spare at all times so that the rain/slush doesn’t ruin the snazzy ones; she has backups of the timeless beauties stashed away to be brought out only when the going gets tough; she cares for them more than her BF (can be verified with the poor boy himself who didn’t know that he was funding his nemesis when he funded for the first  big shoe splurge way back in 2006!!!). I carried back 26 pairs from my recent visit to UK (I had to throw out the clothes, cosmetics etc.. which I had taken from here, to make space for them in my check-in bag) and guarded them viciously during the journey so much so that  if I hadn’t boarded the flight in 15 minutes, the authorities at the Heathrow Airport would have definitely retained me to search my belongings!  Yeah I’m just that mad, but I don’t suffer from this insanity, I completly enjoy it :D. As soon I reach home after being away for 2 months, my sister asks me to quickly line up my newest acquisitions,;photos are taken and uploaded on her FB account pronto!! FB being FB, comments also come back pronto!! I am told that when one of the comments read this “ WOW…are these all really yours” the reply to this read “ Sure…They can all be found in my house”. Willy huh??? Not that I’ll ever let that hippo get into any of my beloved shoes, but I see the first signs of shoe-mania spreading to the younger one…

Well good luck with that to her and to all the shoe fanatics out there…Let’s see who reaches the Imelda Marcos’s trail first :-p :-p :-p

P.S.: Above are some of the members of the family, not all of them are here yet, but will soon be. Now now don’t ask me to pick favourites in my family, if red miss muffet with the black piping were to get to know this secret she would go sit right at the centre of the picture hogging all the attention, then the rest would arrange a mutiny and leave me with nothing but bites…..Shoe-away before the insanity latches one ;-))

    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na

Love everything about this song: the wonderful singer, the gorgeous actors, the beautiful  locales (hot springs in Pamukkale- meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish- one of  my must -visit- before- I - die sites ;-) ), the great cinematography and of-course the soulful lyrics :)

    Kaise Bataye Kyun Tujhko Chahe
    Yaara Bata Na Paaye
Baatein Dilon Ki Zuban Aankhon Ki Tujhe Samjhayen
    Tu Jaane Na....Tu Jaane Na
    Tu Jaane Na...Tu Jaane Na

    Hmm Mil Ke Bhi
    Hum Na Mile
    Tumse Na Jane Kyun
    Milon Ki Hai Fasle
    Tumse Hai Jaane Kyun
    Anjane Hain Silsile
    Tum Se Na Jaane Kyun
    Sapne Hai Palkon Tale
    Tum Se Na Jaane Kyun

    Kaise Bataye Kyun Tujhko Chahe
    Yaara Bata Na Paaye
Baatein Dilon Ki Dekhon Zuban Ki Aankhe Tujhe Samjhayen
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na

Nigahon Mein Dekho Meri Jo Har Bas Gaya
Woh Hai Milta Tumse Hoo Bahu
    Jane Teri Aankhen Thi Ua
    Ya Baatein Thi Wajah
Huye Tum Jo Dil Ki Arzooo
    Tum Paas Ho Ke Bhi
    Tum Aas Ho Ke Bhi
    Ehsaaas Ho Ke Bhi
    Apne Nahi

    Aise Hai Apne Gile
    Tum Se Na Jane Kyun
    Milon Ki Hai Fasle
    Tumse Hai Jaane Kyun
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na

    Khayalon Mein Lakhon Batein
    Yun Keh Gaya
    Bol Kuch Na Tere Samne
    Huye Na Begane Bhi Tum
    Ho Ke Aur Ke
    Dekho Tum Mere Hi Bane
    Afsoos Hota
    Dil Bhi Yeh Rota Hai
    Sapne Sanjota Hai
    Pagla Hua Soche Yeh
    Hum The Mil
    Tum Se Na Jane Kyun

    Milon Ki Hai Fasle
    Tumse Hai Jaane Kyun
    Anjane Hain Silsile
    Tum Se Na Jaane Kyun
    Sapne Hai Palkon Tale
    Tum Se Na Jaane Kyun

    Kaise Bataye Kyun Tujhko Chahe
    Yaara Bata Na Paaye
Baatein Dilon Ki Dekhon Zuban Ki Aankhe Tujhe Samjhayen
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na
    Tu Jaane Na.....Tu Jaane Na

    THIS IS SHE

Metaphorically charged-immensely scrutinized- pitifully presented -thoughtfully started-erratically ended- here goes: THIS IS SHE.

There once was a girl who was told she was a puppy. She grew up chewing on bones, chasing cats and wagging her tail dutifully at her masters. She lived her whole life bounding back and forth the porch not knowing particularly why, but she did it anyway. She let people tousle her hair, slept behind the couch and remained faithful all life long….yes she was told she was a puppy and she believed it…this is she.

There once was a girl who was told she was a frog. She grew up swimming in her well, swatting things that came her way, lapping it all up in her stride. She felt liberated and buoyant in her world, all content till she realized that there are other wells to get into before she dies. She kept churning her pot of milk all life long, waiting for it to turn into a lump of butter so she could hop out and go explore other wells and who knows maybe a pond even….yes she was told she was a frog and she believed it… this is she.

There was once a girl who was told she was a goat. She grew up chewing things thrown her way, always hoping that the grass was greener on the other side of the hill. She was listless but was told she had an undaunting spirit that would forge her much ahead of the league. She climbed up mountains, she passed by valleys, she graced unknown terrains. She lived and dreamed of the heights that beckoned her all life long… yes she was told she was a goat and she believed it… this is she.

There was once a girl who was told she was a racoon. She grew up collecting and stashing away things, making place even when there was none, for them. She lived in dread of the mysterious winters’ that never came by her and she rummaged all life long looking for the minutiae that others disregarded. She epitomized hoarding, followed her acorn with a fervour that she didn’t know she possessed, she pranced around with her possessions. She lived her life ensconced … yes she was told she was a racoon and she believed it… this is she.

There was once a girl who was told she was a dragon. Majestic she was which made her heady. It came naturally to her to look down on the lesser beings and stomp her way around obstacles. Fierce she was, indomitable in spirit and she breathed fire all life long when provoked. She held her head high up against the storm, she roared and made sure she was heard, she feared none. She willed life to challenge her so could fly above the rest all life long…. yes she was told she was a dragon and she believed it… this is she.

    Dost..Freund..Vriend..Amico..

    Friends…
They say a person’s actual wealth is his/her friends. I’ve always believed in that. It used to be easy for me to make friends, but some bitter experiences have left me wary and timid. In today’s age of virtual friends , I , an avid Facebook non-follower, believe in the fact that friends bring into our lives warmth and comfort that no other relationship can possibly do.

Today is the day dedicated to friends. Several people argue that they don’t believe that one single day should be dedicated to celebrate this glorious relationship. I quite agree; but I’d also like to ask these cynics how many of them actually take out time everyday for friendship from their busy schedule. Sure we go shopping sometimes or binging the others but do we really get to spend quality time everyday with our friends where we can reminisce about the good old initial days of bonding, the silly fights all of us had with each other, the tears of joy and smiles through the sorrows that we shared, the non stop talks we had about the guys/girls we had crushes on, mature talks about relationships, life, families, work and the likes? I guess not. Dedicating a day for friends’ is a grand tradition where you get an opportunity to show these angels that it was a good thing they flit around in your life…

I learnt an important lesson last year: It’s easy for friends to become acquaintances, because these specimens were never friends to begin with. I do have loads of acquaintances, some by my own volition and others by their sheer stupidity. But true friends have been rare and far for me and if you continue reading you'll notice mostly of the opposite sex!  The ever popular soap 'FRIENDS' to date is my all time favourite; I envy the fact that a group as large as 6 friends love and respect each other and stick it out through thick and thin. Today we have big groups, sure, but they all have factions, minions and bullies. Something does always remain idealistic doesn’t it?

OK, enough with the lecture! I love my friends and they love me in turn (else they wouldn’t be my friends right :-p)…Some people who’ve walked into my life and remained with me through all my ups and downs… here is presenting my motley collection of friends who comprise my inner circle :-)

Shashank: An unassuming guy whose best quality: He never judges, at least he doesn’t show it! It’s always been easy to talk to him and I’ve had looooooooong discussions  with him whenever I’m in a pickle. We did hit a rough patch few years ago, but a chance meeting seemed to refresh our memories on the fact that we are the best of buds and we need to let silly squabbles, be it. He’s miles away right now but I also know that he will always
be just a phone call away for me … Thanks Shashank for being you, I couldn’t have asked for more…thank god I decided to sit next to you on the first day at RV :-).

Sadoo: Well he is quite a sadoo. Now that he is US, going through the struggles of  earning a living there, he is hardly available. But I don’t hold it against him, he is one of the most focused and determined people I have met in my life. A big kanjoos but a softy at heart. Was quite an ‘item’ in my team and it gave me a tremendous kick that he was my friend over the other powdered bimbos of the team. We don’t talk much nowadays but I know that he will always wish the very best for me and me likewise. Thanks Sadoo for being around, you certainly did light up my days at work. To date I look up from my desk hoping to see your bobbing head with the goofy smile pasted on it ;-)….

Ananth: Guube  is what we call each other. I don’t know why it came to be so but I love the fact that it hasn’t changed in so many years…An IIM grad, he is the typical tapori
you would want to stay away from. His honesty is maybe the thing that allowed our friendship to grow and his callous attitude is what is keeping it alive. An egotist to the core, he has no qualms about the fact that he might be stepping on several toes when he blares his mouth, just like me!!! You want to beat up somebody, you want somebody to tell you are what you are and not what you put on, you want somebody to share dirty jokes with, he is the 'man', but if you want somebody to hook up your single friend with or to talk mush mush stuff or to have a sane argument-stay away…he is insanity personified ;-)…Guube lo bloody give me a call and thanks for standing up for me always.

Nikhil: Mellow boy-turned-Casanova falls in and out of love every other week. Has millions of friends but the best part somehow manages to give time to all. I call him useless and him being him, dodo, calls me the same! My oldest and best bud, has known some of my darkest secrets. He’s pampered me through breakups and teased me through relationships. Love his bachelor pad, his attitude towards life, his geniality. Thanks useless, there hasn’t been a dull moment with you, you manage to cheer me up always :-).You might argue that will make you not so useless but we both know you so let’s just stick with useless, shall we?

Harshita: She is actually hippo’s (my sis) best friend, but she has been more of a sister to me than my own. I envy my sis only for one thing:  this kaddi! I’ve never had a best friend who gave me that many gifts, knick knacks or love. Madam is currently the newest NRI we know and has settled in quite well there ;-)… shops more than she can afford and makes me jealous every other day with her new acquisitions. She was supposed to by my agent there getting me the latest trendy shoes but flicks half the stuff I tell her to look up! She and hippo bicker like 2 lesbian couples but at the end of the day somehow patch it up,  good for them. This kaddi has been so very sweet and nice to me I miss her so much now that I can’t msg her all the time :-(…You better come back after 4 years as promised OK? Thanks for checking on me in UK and don’t you ever dare change.

Paulie: I don’t how he came to be such a big part of my life, it was purely circumstantial but it’s great that it happened. One of the nicest human being I have met to date. Like any typical man has his share of ego and slights, but is just so very warm and friendly to all, even those he hates, that you can’t help but admiring him. For the past one year he has been an efficient chauffeur, a punching bag for the days that I only wish to dish out, a wonderful caretaker and listener and most of all a genuine friend. When I was almost losing hope that true friends are a fallacy, came along this man who instilled back my faith in almost everything. I couldn’t have survived through the politics and the back stabbings at work without you Paulie, for which I will remain eternally grateful. You love me for what I am but I can’t give you what you seek. May god bear justice to his loved ones and keep us friends forever. Thank you Paulie for believing in me when nobody else did.

Daalu: She was the apple of my eye and several other eyes too! Was sprightly and haughty. With an attitude that took down everybody she sashayed into our lives right after fluffy departed. We did practically everything together: ate, slept, bathed, wandered. pondered, laundered! She was an excellent listener with her only inputs being…meeeeeeeeaow. Never once criticized and always demanded attention! I love you Daalu and the only thing that was bad in 2011 is you going away. None of your feline mates can fill your gap, you were and will remain our darling. Thanks for being a part of my life, you took a part of me with you but hopefully wherever you are now, you are resting in peace.

Ashi: At the very centre of the circle, occupying the largest chunk, is my Ashi. He hit on me even before I stopped hating him, I made him wait and in turn fell head over heels in love with him. He literally picked me up from a dump that I had banished myself into and made me who I am today. A narcissist to the hilt, he sees very little beyond himself, but whatever he does see, I’m always a part of it :-D. I’m the lucky one to have taught him what love is and he is the one who showed me I am capable of great heights. We’ve pseudo broken up several times over the past 8 years, but both of us know that we mean more than just partners to each other. Not many can boast of having your best friend as your soul mate, I sure wish that I can boast of it soon. I know not what fate has in store for us Ashi, but so far whatever she has had has been wondrous for me. Thanks baby for walking into my life and tenaciously staying back. I’ve never wanted to regret anything in life and I promise I will strive to let you feel the same way for the rest of yours :-D.

Phew that’s a biiiiiig post. I actually wanted to add few others who are at the periphery of the circle and few others who chose to walk out…but why waste today on them today..later…Pics to follow after some mixing up on Picasa..

    Cya!!!
P.S. Did you know that friend translates to wine in old English :-D?

    CAGED!!!

    By Maya Angelou........................................
    The free bird leaps
on the back of the wind
    and floats downstream
    till the current ends
    and dips his wings
    in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

    But a bird that stalks
    down his narrow cage
    can seldom see through
    his bars of rage
    his wings are clipped and
    his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

    The caged bird sings
    with fearful trill
    of the things unknown
    but longed for still
    and his tune is heard
on the distant hill for the caged bird
    sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

    The caged bird sings
    with a fearful trill
    of things unknown
    but longed for still
    and his tune is heard
    on the distant hill
    for the caged bird
    sings of freedom.

    Love is LIFE

I know my previous post says I was meant to be back after a long hiatus, but I didn't. Got busy, and bogged down to an extent. That is life. You plan something; something else happens. You ask for few things; you get everything else other than that! But again isn't that what makes life interesting and for some like me who need a challenge everyday she wakes up livable? I turned 26 this year and the very first thought that hit me was not that I am loved, not that I am old, not that I am to be married soon, not that I have a job which exhausts me every single day, not that my drink had gone dry half an hour ago, not that I might never have a tiger cub as a pet... nope none of these...It was the one haunting fact that my ambition fizzled out by the time I was 23. I always wanted to make a mark by the time I was 21. This didn't have to be becoming a multi-billionaire, but something that I could look back and be proud of! This thought has been lingering with me throughout this year and I have decided that I will do everything, I mean EVERYTHING, that I haven't done before in 2011. And it has been on helluva year :-)... and surprisingly more mountains than valleys... whoopa :-) :-) More on this later, for now one of the most constant things in my life: my belief in love.

Some of my absolute favourites, each on tells a million stories, only my interpretations below:

The tight bear hug when you see your loved one after eons,

The morning kiss and the warm re-assurance that you will always have somebody besides you,

The countless hours spent getting to know each other more and falling in all over again,

The times spent doing silly cute things which become indelible memories,

    The times when the road ahead terrifies you, but the loving hand guides you right along;

    The days when nothing goes your way and you at the brink of giving up, just the thought that you are the reason somebody wakes up each day with a smile, is enough to lift up your spirits and put you right back in the mad race;
    A passion that lasts longer than time, yep I am one of those who believes in eternal love;

The embrace that says I love you darling and sometimes a little more than that ;-)

    The music that is sometimes in the background, sometimes fore-ground when you are in love;

    The absolute satisfaction you get when you see the significant other joyous and know that today you are the reason for the happiness;

    The fact that life offers more lemons than you can handle, but treasuring the thought that you have somebody to grow old with and share the tequilas;

Ah love! The original vice! You are always in it, it might not always be with you. You might want to deny this, but deep down you know it's true. Lucky are those who experience the highs and lows of love. I have been in and out of it, but I have always been in love with the concept of love. Today I receive more than my share of love. Thanks baby, you make life worth living :-)

    Adios, Amigos!
